is a magnificent two-story adobe villa filled with the space and ambience of
yesterday, this space soars the full two stories
throughout much of the house.
Outside, the lush private garden, featuring a stone fountain with a Mayan
acrobat which was sculpted by Charlotte. Birds and jasmine vines welcome you through
the passageway to the front door, which has itself been aged by time and
history. Rest a moment outside on the patio where you can sip a Chardonnay,
write, paint or do nothing at all under San Miguel's amazing blue skies or
starry nights.
Inside, under the lofty ceiling, lounge on the leather sofa,
write a letter, read a book at the antique desk or admire Gary Slipper's
painting over the fireplace.
Hand-painted tiles cover the Mexican stove
and the entire kitchen, which has been
outfitted with contemporary conveniences. This kitchen, with a double
barrel-vaulted ceiling inspired by those in Puebla, is a cook's pleasure.
The main bedroom on the first floor has a king size bed, made especially
inviting by a hand-embroidered duvet coverlet. A full, hand-painted tile bath is
adjacent.
The second bedroom, upstairs, is complete with queen size bed and
another hand-tiled bath. The balcony has a charming alcove with single daybed
where you can read, rest or admire the room below. There is also a sun deck and the
floor-length windows are balconied, providing views from within and without.
