was an adobe ruin that has been lovingly and painstakingly
restored to the elegance of its day by Liza. The entry tiles were made exclusively
for Casa Liza from her photographs of the antique tiles at the Franz Meyer Museum in Mexico
City. The doors and windows are from old haciendas
and the wall treatments were inspired by a Museum in Dolores Hidalgo. The fireplace was
inspired by that of a fabulous hacienda in Marfil, Guanajuato, and artfully
sculpted by Liza's mother, Charlotte. The elegant day beds in the casita were
designed and created by renowned designer Marcia Brown. Marion Perlet's
paintings are featured in many of our suites, but especially here, because the casita was named
for her painting, "Maria Luna".

The Mexican tiled
kitchen is so charming that it has been featured, along with the rest of the
Casita, in many books
including
Mexicolor,
Mexican Style and
Mexico Hotels. The Jacuzzi in the bright bathroom is also tiled with the
hand-painted designs of San Gabriel.
This Casita
boasts its own private patio with a delightful garden, filled with flowers and
fruit trees.
